To the survivors of Physics 111,
Who started with a class count of only 7.
You all are here (cream of the crop),
Because you got hooked on science and just couldn't stop!

We may not meet again at all,
'though perhaps we will see each other this Fall.
Whatever the case, I want you to know,
It's been a great summer--sad to see you go.

Take what you've learned and apply it in life.
It will help you avoid much daily strife.
For to know is to see that there's a way through,
And to grow is the way to know what to do.

When troubles arise, you can face them in stride.
Wield your problem-solving critical-thinking methods with pride.
Continue to learn (life-long learners that you are),
And never stop growing (you're dead if you get that far).

So I salute the hard-workers and dilligent caste,
Those students who study while beach weather lasts.
Keep those high expectations and walk that narrow line.
